British Supermodel Jourdan Dunn Reveals Battle With Depression/Anxiety

When you think of how life must be like as an international famous Supermodel, you’d most likely think of private planes, flying all over the world, V.I.P everything, beauty and living a lavish lifestyle we all dream of. This is what life is like for British Supermodel Jourdan Dunn, but unfortunately, so is depression and anxiety.

On Tuesday the 27 year old published someone else’s post about the conditions and said that she can definitely relate.
The screenshot of the tweet read: ‘Having anxiety & depression is like being scared and tired of the same time. It’s the fear of failure, but no urge to be productive. It’s wanting friends but hate socializing. It’s wanting to be alone but not wanting to be lonely. It feels everything at once so it’s like you numb [sic].’

After the sad revelation, fans of the Victoria Secret model left words of encouragement and support in the comment section.
This isn’t the first time that the mother of one has opened up about her battles with mental health, she previously penned an open letter once again to her Instagram page; “The truth is before I shot this campaign I was in a deep state of self-doubt and depression. Everything was a struggle for me. My insecurities had me questioning myself every day. What am I doing? Where am I going? Will I ever be hired again?”. “My career has been a rollercoaster of rejection and support. Mostly my own. And now it’s all being measured by instagrams (sic) popularity contest. ‘I just don’t think I can do this anymore’ I would often find myself saying,” Jourdan shared.

I feel that Jourdan’s experience with mental health is something that so many people can relate to, whether it’s mild or severe. Her struggles goes to show that no matter how much money, fame or material things we have, none of us are exempt from experiencing mental health at some point in our lives. I commend Ms Dunn for being transparent, speaking out and highlighting mental health.
