The Impact Of Kobe Bryants Death

Last Sunday (26th of January) the world was stunned as news reports surfaced, that American basketball legend Kobe Bryant, had died in a helicopter crash. As more information was released, it was confirmed that Kobe’s 13 year old daughter Gianna had also died in the accident alongside other passengers. The group were on their way to a youth basketball tournament at Mr. Bryant’s academy in Thousand Oaks, Calif., northwest of Los Angeles when the helicopter went down.

Tributes immdiately poured in from celebrities including rappers The Game, P Diddy and Meek Mills. Comedian Kevin Hart and basketball stars Micheal Jordan, Lebron James and Shaquille O’Neil .

I was completely shocked and saddened to hear the news and can’t imagine the pain that Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant and the family and partners of the other passengers, must be going through.

Bryant entered the National Basketball Association (NBA) directly from high school, and played his entire 20-season professional career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant won five NBA Championships and was an 18-time All Star, 15-time member of the All NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, was named the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), and was a two-time NBA Finals winner. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He led the NBA in scoring during two seasons, ranks fourth on the league’s all time regular scoring, and ranks fourth on the all- time post season scoring list.

Videos have surfaced of Kobe giving speeches about living your best life and having a career that you are passionate about. One in particular caught my attention as I always say that you need to be living a passionate life whether it’s your career, relationships etc. Check out the footage below.
